Why Most Companies Think They Have a Marketing Problem?

← All Questions

Most companies assume growth stalls because their marketing isn't working. So they redesign the website, rewrite the messaging, hire a new agency, or launch another campaign.

Sometimes those things help.

Often they don't.

That's because marketing doesn't solve confusion. It amplifies clarity. If a company hasn't clearly defined why it exists beyond what it sells, no campaign can compensate for that.

The strongest companies I've worked with all had one thing in common. They understood the change they wanted to create before they worried about how to communicate it. Once that became clear, the messaging, the website, the presentations, and yes, the videos, all became easier because they were built on something true instead of something clever.

Marketing has an important job. But it isn't to invent meaning.

Its job is to communicate it.
